About Me :)
Hello there! My name is Chase, and I am currently pursuing a BFA in Theatre & Dance at the University of Wyoming, with a focus in Musical Theatre Performance.
My mom was a dance teacher at a local studio when I was growing up. She was there so often she would bring me with her when I was just a baby, so dance has always been apart of my life. At first, it was difficult for me to be the only boy in my classes, until I saw a group of boys my age doing these crazy tricks. After meeting with them and the teacher, I started breakdancing at the age of 6. After then, I had watched for the first time both Newsies (1992), and West Side Story (1961). There I saw these young guys jumping, kicking, tapping, and dancing all around. I said, I want to do that! After then, I started Tap, Jazz, and Ballet. I eventually went on to compete in dance regionally in the Mid-Atlantic.
As for theatre, I didn't find myself on the stage until my freshman year of high-school. It was so fulfilling for me to combine my love of dancing with singing! From then I always felt I was destined to do this forever. It was the thing I enjoyed the most and caught all of my attention immediately. Storytelling is a magical art-form to be apart of, and that's why to I want to share my love and work for it for the rest of my life. The community you can build from your experience in the performing arts is unmatched. The blessing of collaborating with people that share similar passion is my favorite part of what Theatre incapsulates. The possibility of giving another kid the feeling I had watching Newsies/West Side Story gives me so much ambition for this field.
Thank you for being here and reading a little bit about me and why performing is what I want to do. Feel free to contact me, follow me on Instagram, and subscribe to me on YouTube to follow along with my life of storytelling!
